But, I managed to edit the output file manually without much headache. Still, some repetitions and random jumps were there. So, I had to re-export the data from paraview with precision set to 4, and thus able to sort most of the contours. I noticed that an iso-contour from paraview bears not exactly same contour values, minor deviations in the order of 0.001 were present. I have used the code without much modifications, though I faced some minor issues. I am trying to do a simple rendering of a 2D plot (xy) with the z-values indicated by contours. ![]() If you use octave you should be able to follow the code. November 5, 2019, 4:36pm 1 Hello, I am very new to the use of ParaView and have run into a problem. If the distance exceeds a certain threshold, it switches over to the next contour. Then, the point is removed from the original file matrix. Yeah alright! Just to tell you one or two lines for better understanding: the code takes the first point of each contour it reads from the file and tries to find the nearest point of the same contour by the minimal distance. MdTemp2 = sortrows(MdTemp2,1) %new vector diff matrix MdTemp1 = sortrows(MdTemp1,1) %new vector diff matrix MdTemp = sortrows(MdTemp,1) %Matrix: vector differences from ref point RRef = MTemp(ceil(end/2),:) %start ref point MTemp = M(,:) %Temporäre Matrix Pressure-Isoline Data can also be visualised as a surface using the Contour function. ISOPlot = fopen('pressureIsoLines.txt', 'w') Paraview is an open source, data visualisation software, ideal for viewing data. M = sortrows(M,3) %sortieren pressure fields ![]() %M(:,3) = M(:,3) * 1.205 %Calculate real pressure from incompressible They take in data on their inputs and produce transformed data or results on their outputs. M = dlmread(filename,',',1,0) %read in original matrix In ParaView, filters are pipeline modules or algorithms that have inputs and outputs. You may need to apply filters such as Cell Data to Point Data or Point Data to Cell Data to convert arrays between different associations for that. Any way to extract data from contour plots using paraView? - CFD Online Discussion Forums
